Boxing’s been good to me *

Welcome back from the holiday, everyone! I hope you had a truly magical Christmas!

I also hope that you’re having a wonderful Boxing Day today! Now, I know my life seems extravagant and glamorous, so you might be surprised to learn that I don’t actually have a maid or butler or chauffeur to celebrate Boxing Day in its proper context. Ahem. However, we do have a metric junkload of boxes, as evidenced by the sight under our Christmas tree at Casa P:

And then we put our boxes in more boxes for traveling:

YO DAWG I HEARD YOU LIKE BOXES SO I PUT YO’ BOXES IN BOXES SO YOU CAN BOX UP YO’ BOXES ON BOXING DAY.

Anyway, as you’re reading this, Mr. P and our many boxes are taking our annual Holiday Tour of Homes, which is a posh way (it is Boxing Day) of saying that we’re driving all over the middle of the country visiting family. And even though we’re not done celebrating the holidays yet, boxing really has been good to me already, as evidenced by the fun Christmastime experiences over the past few days...

Decorating the live tree at my parents’ home

Visiting my darling childhood friends

Opening presents at Christmas Eve dinner

Singing Happy Birthday to Jesus (YES WE DO THAT)

MORE BOXES

So yes, Christmastravaganza posts are officially over, but Mr. P and I aren’t quite done celebrating yet. We still have a whole other family to visit, after all. But I’ll still be here every day this week and hoping that you all continue to have a lovely holiday break!

* With thanks to Ben Folds for the post title.

(No, that song does not have a thing to do with Boxing Day. But yes, I do insinuate Ben Folds songs into conversation whenever possible.)
