Photo Friday #30: precious snowflake

Here’s something you might guess about Tennesseans: they cannot drive in the snow. Which is why I panicked when it snowed the evening before I was to teach my first university class, an hour away. It was enough accumulation to close the schools the following day (snow day for Mr. P!), although admittedly, Tennessee schools will close if the clouds look at them funny. But even my university opened late. So yeah. The weather really was bad, which kicked my new-teacher anxiety into overdrive.

Fortunately, the snow melted and the roads cleared before I had to drive to my class. That meant I could appreciate this delicate snowflake on my deck for its beauty, instead of calling it a lot of really inappropriate words.
