Photo Friday #95: sensory assault

In our old neighborhood in the suburbs of Nashville, it seemed like every yard had a big Bradford pear tree. One of my absolute favorite times in our neighborhood was when those trees bloomed into giant white puffballs. It was gorgeous! I felt so lucky to live there! I wanted to plant more because SO PRETTY!

Our new neighborhood here in St. Louis, as it turns out, also has plenty of Bradford pears. However, unlike our old subdivision... I walk through our neighborhood now. And holy moly, why didn’t anyone tell me how smelly these trees are? Oh my gosh.

I think I’ll stick with tulip trees, thanks.
