35 by 35: Two weeks in

For all the time I spend staying busy – working long hours, blogging daily, keeping my life together and tacking project after project – sometimes Mr. P doesn’t get enough credit. Here’s something that perhaps you wouldn’t know: Mr. P gets stuff done. True, he doesn’t constantly invent projects to keep himself busy like someone we all know (ahem) – but if there’s a task at hand, dude doesn’t procrastinate.

So although I gave myself a four-year deadline to conquer the projects on this list...

... I’ve already checked off three of them. Within two weeks. And that’s mostly thanks to Mr. P!

For instance, here’s what I unwrapped from Mr. P for my birthday:

New pots and pans, y’all! (You already saw them in action in the stroganoff recipe, actually. Sneaky!)

They are fancy and I love them – a total upgrade from the $20 thrift store set I’ve used for the last decade. Funnily enough, I mentioned the new-pots idea to Mr. P before I published that list, and my new set was en route when that post went live. That’s Mr. P for you – he hears something needs to be done, and he immediately takes care of it. And with that, I can check off #18, Own a new set of pots and pans!

That wasn’t the only big purchase coming my way. After researching and chatting about it, Mr. P and I finally decided that perhaps it was time for THIS:

A smartphone! Whoa. Remember, I’m the luddite who used her previous cellphone despite the short circuit under the 3, 6, and 9 keys. Who cares if my phone turns off every time I type one of those numbers, I will just file all my speed-dials under 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, or 8. So there.

Anyway, those days are clearly over. Although, from a day-to-day perspective, there’s really not that much difference – I’ve used my iPod nonstop for the last year and a half, so I’m familiar with iOS and my favorite apps. But still! I can text people now! Look who’s the big shot now! #15, Get a smartphone, accomplished!

(PS: Mr. P teases me that for the iPhone 5C – “C” for “color” – I picked white. I, however, insist that white is totally a color. Now, if I can only get a case before I inevitably shatter it by dropping it on the floor...)

Finally, I can also check this off my list:

Yup. #21: Paint our china cabinet, is DONE! It’s a project unto itself and of course, I’ll tell you all about it! And while I suppose I can’t give Mr. P all the credit for this one like I can the others, he sure did help me move that solid wood cabinet so I could paint it. The man is helpful!

So while I highly doubt that I’ll be able to keep this pace up for the next several years, it sure does feel good knowing that a least a few are already crossed off!... even if that’s thanks more to Mr. P than me. Oh well. Three down, thirty-two to go!

Go Mr. P! And I think a white IPhone C makes complete sense. Will you case be gold to tie into another favorite decorating trend?

@Rachel, I haven't decided yet! Maybe a nice gray-and-white stripe? Honestly, I'll probably go with the one that encases it like a tank - I'm too clumsy not to!
